Sandals Of Christ is a home-bound (America) outreach ministry by missionary, Troy Jens. Troy travels to visit and provide Biblical perspective to children and families facing trying times outside of the Church. His long time work has been to share time with children in need of spiritual support, provide Biblical hope and share their stories of inspiration.
Troy is an "all denominational" missionary using the KJ Bible for reference and noting that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God. His primary objective is to get people to pray, to read the Bible, to go to and support their respective Bible-based churches - and to engage in Bible study.
Having worked for State Department of Human Service agencies, he is a long-time guardian/conservator and advocate for people with severe mental and physical challenges. He provides support for Christian wish granting charities, directly helping children and families with critical illness.
Troy regularly visits and works with children who endure traumatic circumstances, broken homes, drugs, alcohol, cutting, violence and other destructive life problems. These are long-term connections, often life-long as these kids stay in his life on into adulthood. Troy provides ministry to the families and references to Christian counsel.
Troy uses his full time career as a professional fishing guide along with his long time passion for music as part of the door-opening mechanism for Biblical ministry. He is a published song writer and former full-time performing guitar player/vocalist.
His professional fishing career and life-long hunting experience led him into outdoor writing, appearing in nearly all major fishing/hunting publications in the USA. He has been featured in many articles and in some televison shows. He has written commentary and feature articles with respect to outdoor activities and charity events for kids.
Troy sometimes visits children/families in need for long terms, and has housed children/families in protective circumstances.
Troy is a listed missionary with the Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama, and he maintains fellowship and sharing with many pastors from various churches. The Sandals Of Christ mission is a continuance of life-long work, and the hope to inspire and to train other missionaries to become involved in the expansion of the Kingdom of God through the sharing of individual gifts.
